Population: The population of Lebanon is 6,049,086.

GDP:  $ 8.1 billion (2016)

Climate:  Lebanon has a typically Mediterranean climate. There are four distinct seasons. Summer (June to September) is hot on the coast and cooler in the mountains. Spring and autumn are warm and pleasant and are the ideal times to visit for sightseeing. Winter (December to mid March) is mostly rainy, with snow in the mountains so this is the ideal time to visit to enjoy winter sports, but at lower altitudes sightseeing can be hindered by heavy rainfall. 

People:  Arabic-speaking Lebanese 93%, Armenians 4%, Kurds 2% and Various other ethnicities: Mideast (Turks, Assyrians, Iranians), Europeans (Greeks, Italians, French) and others 1%.

Religion:  54% Islam (Shia and Sunni, 27% each),  40.5% Christian (21%  Maronite, 8% Greek Orthodox, 5% Melkite, 1% Protestant, 6% other Christian denominations like Roman Catholic, and also non-native to Lebanon Christian denominations like Armenian Orthodox, Armenian Catholic, Syriac Catholic, Syriac Orthodox, Chaldean, Assyrian and Copt) and 5.5% Druze (a quasi-Muslim sect who do not consider themselves to be Muslim, even though under the terms of the Lebanese Constitution the Druze community is designated as a part of the Lebanese Muslim community.)

Capital:  Beirut is the capital and largest city of Lebanon.

Language:  “Arabic is the official national language.

Currency:  The Lebanese Pound is the currency of Lebanon.
