about me
Hi, I’m Lawrence — world traveler, lifelong student, retired U.S. Marine officer, and the voice behind Live Like Friday.
For most of my life, I believed success followed the traditional script: work hard, build a career, retire someday, and then maybe enjoy the world. But somewhere along the journey I realized something important…
That realization became the foundation for the lifestyle I now live and share with others — Live Like Friday. It’s a simple philosophy: live every day with curiosity, purpose, and gratitude as if the weekend adventure is already here.
After serving over two decades in the United States Marine Corps, rising from enlisted ranks to officer, I transitioned into a life of exploration, education, and global discovery. I hold a PhD, and while education shaped how I think, travel shaped how I see the world.
or the past several years I’ve been traveling continuously across the globe — exploring cultures, studying history, meeting people from every walk of life, and reminding myself daily that the world is far more connected than we often realize.
From the fjords of Norway to the street markets of Asia, from historic European cities to remote coastal villages, every destination teaches a lesson. Travel has a powerful way of breaking down stereotypes, expanding perspectives, and reminding us of our shared humanity.
But this site isn’t just about where I go.
It’s about how we choose to live.
Live Like Friday is about embracing curiosity, valuing experiences over possessions, learning something new every day, and refusing to postpone joy until “someday.”
You’ll find stories from the road, cultural insights, travel inspiration, and reflections on life, learning, and the incredible diversity of our world.
Because in the end, life isn’t measured in years.
It’s measured in experiences, connections, and the courage to explore beyond your comfort zone.
So wherever you are in your journey…
Welcome to Live Like Friday.
