Aruba

Aruba is one of the four countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Netherlands, Curacao, and Sint Maarten). Aruba’s first inhabitants were the Caquetío Amerindians from the Arawak tribe, who migrated there from Venezuela to escape attacks by the Caribs. Aruba was first colonized by Spanish then the Dutch took control after the Spanish, leaving the Arawaks to farm and graze livestock, and used the island as a source of meat for other Dutch possessions in the Caribbean.  Aruba has one of the highest standards of living in the Caribbean region with a low unemployment rate.  The primary economic drivers in Aruba are tourism, exporting aloe, and petroleum refining.
