Climate: May to October, your winter months is the best time to visit Angola.  Angola has two seasons: hot and dry: Dry season goes May to October and hot rainy season November to April.

People: There are over 90 different ethnic groups in Angola, speaking a variety of Bantu languages. The largest groups are the Ovimbundu, in the centre and south (who speak Umbundu), the Bakongo in the north west (speaking variants of Kikongo), the Mbundu in the north (speaking Kimbundu) and the Chokwe, Lunda and Nganguela peoples in the east.

Religion: The majority of the population in Angola are Christian, specifically Roman Catholics.

Language: Portuguese is the official language in Angola.  Other languages spoken are: Umbundu, Kimbundu, Kikongo, Chokwe, Kwanyama also called Oshikwanyama, and Ngangela.

Capital: Luanda, formerly named São Paulo da Assunção de Loanda, is the capital and largest city in Angola.

Safety Concerns: Crime is a major concerns in Angola.  Visitors should be careful of demonstrations and politically motivated violence.  There is also an outbreak of yellow fever in Angola.
