Population: The population of the DR Congo is 80,744,319.

Climate: The climate is hot and humid in the river basin and cool and dry in the southern highlands, with a cold, alpine climate in the Rwenzori Mountains. South of the Equator, the rainy season lasts from October to May and north of the Equator, from April to November. 

People: Over 200 ethnic groups populate the Democratic Republic of the Congo, of which the majority is Bantu peoples. Together, Mongo, Luba and Kongopeoples (Bantu) and Mangbetu-Azande peoples constitute around 45% of the population. The Kongo people are the largest ethnic group in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Religion: Over 70% Congolese are Christians, the rest follow African religions, Islam and other beliefs. Around 68% work in agriculture, 19% in services and 13% in the industrial sector.

Capital: The capital of Congo Democratic is Kinshasa.

Language: The main languages spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are French, (Ki)swahili, Lingala, Tshiluba and Kikongo, but there are over 200 languages and dialects spoken by around 250 ethnic groups.

Currency: The Congolese Franc is the currency of Congo/Kinshasa.
