Climate:  Bangladesh has a subtropical monsoon climate characterized by wide seasonal variations in rainfall, high temperatures and humidity. There are three distinct seasons in Bangladesh: a hot, humid summer from March to June; a cool, rainy monsoon season from June to October; and a cool, dry winter from October to March. 

People: Bangladesh is largely ethnically homogeneous, and its name derives from the Bengali ethno-linguistic group which comprises 98% of the population. The Chittagong Hill Tracts, Sylhet, Mymensingh and North Bengal divisions are home to diverse indigenous peoples. 

Religion:  The main religion in Bangladesh is Islam (94 %), but a significant percentage of the population adheres to Hinduism (5 %). Other religious groups include Buddhists (0.6%, mostly Theravada), Christians (0.3%, mostly Roman Catholics), and Animists (0.1%).

Capital:  Dhaka is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh.

Language:  Bengali is the primary language spoken in Bangladesh.

Currency:  The Bangladeshi Taka is the currency of Bangladesh.
