Climate:  The climate in China varies from region to region since the country is massive! In the northeast the summers are hot and dry and the winters are freezing cold. The north and central regions have frequent bouts of rain coupled with hot summers and cold winters. Normally, the most comfortable season of the year is early autumn (September to early October). During that period, temperatures are reasonable throughout China (about 50-72F) with a limited amount of rain. 

People:  China is a multiracial country consisting of 56 ethnic groups, the most populous being the Han who form about 91.51% of the country’s total population, while 8.49% are other 55 ethnic minorities.

Religion:  China is a multi-religious country. Taoism, Buddhism, Islamism, Protestantism and Catholicism have all developed quite a following in this country. Freedom of belief is a government policy, and normal religious activities are protected by the constitution.

Capital:  The capital of the People’s Republic of China is Beijing.

Language:  Mandarin is the official language of China.

Currency:  The Chinese Yuan Renminbi is the currency of China.
