Population: The population of Bahrain is 1,405,646.

Climate:  Bahrain features an arid climate and has two seasons: an extremely hot summer and a relatively mild winter. During the summer months, from April to October, afternoon temperatures average 40 °C (104 °F) and can reach 48 °C (118.4 °F) during June and July. 

People:  Bahraini 46%, Asian 45.5%, other Arab 4.7%, African 1.6%, European 1%, and other 1.2% (includes Gulf Co-operative country nationals, North and South Americans, and Oceanians).

Religion:  Most of the population, about 85 % in Bahrain is Muslim, the rest of the minority being Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Parsee. Islam is the state religion.

Capital:  Manama is the capital of Bahrain.

Language:  Arabic is the official language of Bahrain. English is widely used, however, and is a compulsory second language at all schools.

Currency:  The Bahraini Dinar is the currency of Bahrain.
