Climate: Jordan’s weather truly consists of 4 seasons: Autumn, winter, spring, and summer. Most of Jordan’s tourist attractions lie in the mountain heights Plateau, strip which runs along the western edge of the country, and the Jordan Valley, which lies next to the Dead Sea; the lowest point on the surface of earth. The weather is almost exclusively dry and sunny from May to October, where there is barely any rainfall. The rainy season begins at the end of November and continues till the end of March. Nonetheless, rainfall is sporadic even then. The coldest months of the year are December and January, where temperatures average about 13 degrees Celsius but can drop to around 5 degrees.
People: Approximately half of Jordanians are of Palestinian roots, meaning that the two populations interbred. In addition, there are minorities such as Circassians, Chechens, Armenians and refugees such as Iraqis, Syrians, and Assyrians.
Religion: Jordan is a tolerant, Islamic state that welcomes all religions. A majority of Jordanians are Muslim, about 92% are Sunni Muslim, and 1% are Shia or Sufi. Cities in the south of Jordan, have the highest percentage of Muslims.
Capital: Amman is the capital and most populous city of Jordan.
Language: The official language of Jordan is Arabic.
