Climate: The territories of Palestine are characterized by severe, cold, humid winters and dry, windy, hot summers. Fall and spring bleed into these main seasons, but winter, from December until mid-March, gives way to summer rather quickly, with the heat rising by April and summer stretching on until early October.
People: Main ethnic groups are Palestinian Arabs who comprise 99.4% of the population and Jews who constitute the remaining 0.6%. 98.7% of the population is Muslim, 0.7% are Christians and Jews are 0.6%.
Religion: 93% of Palestinians are Muslim, the vast majority of who are followers of the Sunni branch of Islam, with a small minority of Ahmadiyya. Palestinian Christians represent a significant minority of 6%, followed by much smaller religious communities, including Druze and Samaritans.
Capital: East Jerusalem the Capital of Palestine.
Language: The primary languages spoken in Palestine, among the predominantly Christian and Jewish communities, were Aramaic, Greek, and Syriac. Arabic was also spoken in some areas.
Currency: Egyptian pound (EGP); Israeli new shekel (ILS); Jordanian dinar (JOD)
