Climate: The climate of the UAE generally is very hot and very sunny. The hottest months are July and August, when average maximum temperatures reach above 50 °C (122.0 °F) on the coastal plain. In the Al Hajar al Gharbi Mountains, temperatures are considerably cooler, a result of increased altitude.

Language: As the UAE was a British protectorate, most locals would have learnt English in school and would know at least basic English. Hindi or Urdu is another language widely spoken and understood. Other languages widely spoken in the UAE include Malayalam, Tamil, Farsi (Persian), and Tagalog (Filipino).
