Population: The population of French Polynesia is 287,072.

Climate:  In French Polynesia, a vast archipelago in the South Pacific Ocean, the climate is tropical, influenced by the trade winds, with a hot and humid season from November to April, and a cooler season from May to October. The overall high season in French Polynesia extends from May 1 to October 31, although some resorts change their and restaurants. 

Currency:  The CFP Franc is the currency of Comptoirs Français du Pacifique (CFP).

Time Zone: The three prices starting April 1. The low season covers November 1 to April 30.

People:  French Polynesia is divided into five groups of islands: The Society Islands.  In 2015, the ethnic makeup of the population was estimated to be 78% native Polynesian, 12% Chinese, 6% French Polynesian and 4% French.

 

Religion:  Christianity is the main religion of the islands. A majority of 54% belongs to various Protestant churches. The Maói Protestant Church is the largest Protestant denomination, accounting for more than 50% of the population.

Capital:   Papeete is the capital of French Polynesia.

Language:   The official languages of French Polynesia are French and Tahitian, although each island group has its own language. English is spoken in all hotels.
