Population: The population of Kiribati is 115,287.

Climate:  The climate of Kiribati can be described as a typical warm, tropical climate with two different seasons. The dry seasons are between December and begin February and from June to mid September; the rainy seasons last from February to end May, and from September to end November. 

People:  The people are Micronesian, and the vast majority speaks Gilbertese (or I-Kiribati). English, which is the official language, is also widely spoken, especially on Tarawa. More than half of the population is Roman Catholic, and most of the rest is Kiribati Protestant (Congregational).  

Religion:  Roman Catholic Church (55 percent); Kiribati Protestant Church (KPC), formerly the Congregational Church (37 percent); Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) (3 percent); Seventh-day Adventists (2 percent); and the Baha’i Faith .

Capital:  South Tarawa is the capital and hub of the Republic of Kiribati.  

Language:   English and Kiribati is the official languages.

Currency:  Currency, Kiribati dollar (KBD) and the Australian dollar (AUD).
