Population: The population of Samoa is 195,109.

Climate:  Samoa’s climate is tropical all year round with two distinct seasons. The dry season runs from May to October while the wet season is from November to April. The average daily temperature is 28 degrees Celsius and the ocean temperature is in the low 20’s. 

People: 92.6% of the populations are Samoans, 7% Euronesians  (people of mixed European and Polynesian ancestry) and 0.4% is Europeans. Only the Māori of New Zealand outnumber Samoans among Polynesian groups.

Religion:  Religion in Samoa encompasses a range of groups, but 98% of the population of Samoa is Christian. Congregational Christian (32%), Roman Catholic (19%), LDS (15%), Methodist (14%), Assemblies of God (8%) and Seventh-day Adventist (4%). Groups together constituting less than 5% of the population include Baha’i, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Congregational Church of Jesus, Nazarene, nondenominational Protestant, Baptist, Worship Centre, Peace Chapel, Samoa Evangelism, Elim Church, and Anglican.

Capital:  Apia is the capital and the largest city of Samoa. 

Language: Samoan and English are the official languages. Including second-language speakers, there are more speakers of Samoan than English in Samoa. Samoan Sign Language is also used by at least some of the deaf population.

Currency:  The Samoan Tala is the currency of Samoa.
