Population: The population of Ecuador is 16,491,853.

GDP:  $ 194.845 billion (2016)

Climate:  Ecuador are typically warm with temperatures in the region of 25 °C (77 °F). The dry season (summer) runs from June to September and the wet season (winter) is from October to May. As most of Ecuador is in the southern hemisphere, June to September is considered to be winter, and winter is generally the dry season in warm climates. 

 

People:  Coastal groups, including the Awá, Chachi, and the Tsáchila, make up 0.24% percent of the indigenous population, while the remaining 3.35 percent live in the Oriente and consist of the Oriente Quichua (the Canelo and the Quijos), the Shuar, the Huaorani, the Siona–Secoya, the Cofán, and the Achuar.

 

Religion:  The predominant religion is Roman Catholic, but there is a scattering of other Christian faiths. Indigenous Ecuadorians, however, have blended Catholicism and their traditional beliefs.

Capital: Quito is the capital of Ecuador.  

Language: The predominant and official language of Ecuador is Spanish, in addition to Northern Quechua and other pre-colonial American languages, which are spoken by 2,300,000 (Adelaar 1991). Ethnologue lists 24 languages of Ecuador: Achuar–Shiwiar. Awa–Cuaiquer.

Currency: The present currency of Ecuador is the United States dollar.
